Welcome to Credible Witness Service we hope that you find this site informative. The role of our Credible Witness Service is endless, but the bulk of the work we do, is for Housing Associations in London and the Greater London area. We presently have a number of ongoing projects, mostly dealing with Anti Social Behaviour : see some examples below - Nuisance neighbours i.e. loud music, banging, verbal abuse etc
- Rowdy and nuisance behavior
- Yobbish behavior and intimidating groups taking over public, or privatespaces
- Vandalism, graffiti and fly-posting
- People dealing, buying, and using drugs
- People dumping rubbish and abandoning cars
- Begging and Anti-Social Drinking.
We see first hand how people lives have been affected, by ASB and the affects it has on families and their quality of life. The good news is we can and have helped to witness some of these ASB's, as they were happening, and as a direct result, action has been taken against the perpetrator or perpetrators and the problems have stopped, or moved away. This could result in written warnings being issued, or legal action being taken against the perpetrator or perpetrators. That is where we play a vital role in giving witness statements and or attending court to give evidence, if required to do so. How it works. The bulk of the work's we do, comes from recommendations, but we do advertise and use the internet as a medium to get custom. Typically we get a telephone call, where we briefly discuss our organization and what we could do for the potential client. We then set up a meeting, to discuss the case or cases. The meeting We discuss in great detail the full history of the ongoing and or, most recent problems reported by the victim or alleged victim, and who the possible perpetrator or perpetrators are, if known. It is imperative that we know the full history of the case before commencing with our services Meeting the Victim or alleged Victim We then set up a meeting with the Victim or alleged Victim, normally in their own home, or in an agreed location, so as not to jeopardise the project if the perpetrator or perpetrators are present or in the area. We then go on standby and make our services available 24/7 to the Victim or alleged Victim, in order to be called out, and to respond within one hour from initial call. Depending on the distance in most cases we are on site within one hour. The meeting of the victim or alleged victims is compulsory. Its gives them a full understanding about what we do and how it can help them. We have found that it also help's the victim or victim's because they are more comfortable calling us, which is important. Request for Credible Witness Service. We get the call, normally we are on the move within 10 minutes. in most cases we are on location within the hour. We arrive on site, and witness the Incident or Incidents depending on what's happening. We could be on site for many hours depending on the how serious the incident is. We continuously take notes, whilst on site. When we have collated all the information we need and ensure that the Victim is ok we head back to our office to do a full report. Full Incident Report Back in the office we prepare a report or summary of events, whilst we were dealing with the callout. We send this information to the client, for the next working day normally if the incident happens during the night the client will have a summary for first thing that morning, when they arrive for work. We send this information by email or fax or preferred method. In more serious cases we attend their offices next working day to relate the facts and submit all evidence we have for them. Further action Depending on the type of incident we have witnessed, we may be required to attend a Police Station, to write a statement or we may also be requested to write a statement, for the client in order that further action can be taken. Modern Technology We can and do use modern technology, where applicable to obtain evidence, for example Digital Cameras, CCTV, and personal hand held Video Recorders with sound. Any evidence obtained, using this technology is handed over to the client and used in the reporting back process. I hope the above information is helpful, and that your organisation may consider using our Credible Witness Services. If we can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us. Please go to the Question section if you would like more information re the above. Or if you would like us to contact your organisation Kind Regards, Hugh Boyne Credible Witness Service working with people, to help people.
